Damselfly tentatively identified as Elegant Spreadwing. Correction or confirmation would be much appreciated.

Juvenile little blue heron eating a frog.

Composite with long exposure for the bottom, polarizer for the sky.

Do you prefer the BW or the color?
Richard, great reads again! Thank you. About your damselfly.,my app tells me it is a fragile forktail, but the photo is rather small for the app to work with, I guess. Maybe the two are similar. I assume you have an insect ID app as well and have done some research, so you may be right.
Nice pics!

Fragile forktails are very common on the black marsh trail and I have identified them before. They are readily idenfiable by exclamation point markings on the thorax that are very distinctive. This was quite different even with a magnified higher resolution image . Thanks for continuing to follow the blog and commenting.
PS: I have several guide books specifically for damselflies. Sometimes the aps are great, sometimes not.
