Mr. Dusel&#8217;s presented works\u00a0were silver gelatin or paladiotype prints of\u00a0architectural images from Italy, but other places as well, including Baltimore. \u00a0They were all excellent images, although not generally in my area of interest. \u00a0However, attending gallery openings is critical to see others&#8217; work, meet the local community, and provide opportunities to network with gallery owners and managers. \u00a0In addition to enjoying the artwork, conversation with other artists and photographers, I now have an opportunity to follow up with the gallery manager with my own work. \u00a0A truly excellent afternoon, even if I couldn&#8217;t afford a purchase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For me, the real learning has come from working and looking at other people\u2019s work. &#8212; Steve McCurry, June 2004 in Kodak newsletter.
